Our Academy programme fosters increased independence and generalization of skills in the classroom setting. Academy programmes integrate language development, social skill building, and academic instruction to support each child’s progression toward independence and school success.
Programming ranges from play-based school readiness, where children learn foundational communication, behavioural regulation, and classroom routines, to more structured academic instruction following a modified Ontario curriculum. Across all levels, teaching combines naturalistic learning with evidence-based strategies such as Direct Instruction to support skill acquisition, generalization, and retention. Emphasis is placed on both academic achievement and social emotional competence, with individualized supports tailored to each student’s needs.
School Readiness
This class focuses on language enhancement through play, social activities, and pre-academic learning. This classroom is intended to help children prepare for entry to school and follows the daily routines of a school classroom.
Modified Ontario Curriculum (Grades 1 – 8)
OAP Approved Program
Students participating in this programme will follow a modified Ontario curriculum, with emphasis on academics and social skills. The curriculum is taught through traditional curriculum learning and Direct Instruction techniques to aid in the overall programme success. This programme is OAP Approved and supervised by a Registered Behaviour Analyst, RBA.
